📖Sunday Recap

Series Title: Mission In Motion: How We Go

This past Sunday, our sermon was titled  “Teach The Way” from Acts 8:26-40.

The early church in Acts shows that evangelism isn’t just bold preaching—it’s patient teaching. Philip’s encounter with the Ethiopian eunuch illustrates this perfectly. The eunuch had Scripture but needed someone to explain it. Philip met him where he was, guided him to Jesus, and baptized him immediately when his heart responded.

Our mission is the same today. People around us are searching, and God calls us to walk with them, explain the gospel, and help them take their next steps. Whether through a spontaneous conversation or intentional discipleship, we must be ready to teach, guide, and celebrate when someone comes to faith. Who can you help understand Jesus this week? The gospel spreads when we take time to teach the way.

👉 Looking Ahead:
This Sunday, we’ll continue our journey through Acts with a message  from Acts 9:1-22. We’ll see how God radically transformed Saul, a violent persecutor of Christians into Paul, the boldest missionary of the early church. His story proves that no one is beyond redemption, and our past struggles can become powerful testimonies of God’s grace

📅 Happening This Week

Sunday

  • 9:00am – Worship
  • 10:20am – Sunday School
  • 6:00pm – NO Evening Service

Sunday Night Services – 6pm

This summer at FCC, Sunday nights at 6pm are all about Ekklesia, Being the Church Together, a time to grow deeper in faith and community. This week is a teaching night, and it’s a great opportunity to devote ourselves to the Bible’s teaching. Let’s move beyond just hearing the Word once a week, let’s obey it, engage with it daily, and commit to being present when it’s taught. The early church gathered often, and we want to follow that example. If you’re hungry to grow, Sunday nights are a great place to start.

Looking for ways to get involved

Lunch Buddies
Lunch Buddies is back for June and July!
** A Few Weeks Still Open To Serve

We’re inviting families or friend groups to sign up for a week to help provide lunches for students in our community. Our church is responsible for Mondays again this year.

Prepping for Lunch Buddies includes purchasing the supplies, packing the lunches and distributing them on the square (if you cant distribute due to schedule conflict no worries, we have you covered).

You can sign up or grab an information sheet downstairs at the sign-up boards or contact the church office. Thank you for being part of this meaningful way to serve and care for our neighbors!

Love West Salem Back To School Event

Mark your calendars for our Back to School Outreach on July 19th! This is a wonderful opportunity to serve local families by providing backpacks filled with school supplies—a practical way to show God’s love to our community. You can help in two ways:

1️⃣ Serve at the event – See the sign up sheets in the church lobby.
2️⃣ Sponsor a backpack – Grab a form in the church lobby to donate and fill a backpack for a child in need.

Every child will be prayed over before they leave, making this more than just a giveaway—it’s a chance to share hope and Jesus’ love. Let’s make an impact together!

See you Sunday!
