đź“–Sunday Recap

Series Title: Mission In Motion: How We Go

This past Sunday, our sermon was titled  “Live the Gospel” from Acts 2:42-47.

This week’s sermon from Acts 2:42 reminded us of the core foundations that shaped the early church and still hold vital importance for us today: devotion to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer. These weren’t just occasional practices, they were daily priorities that grounded the believers and fueled their mission. When we lose sight of these essentials, the church risks becoming ineffective in its calling to be a light in the world. We are not called to mold the Bible around culture, but to let God’s Word shape our lives.

We were also challenged to recognize the importance of living out our faith, not just speaking it. Evangelism is about how we live, how we love, and how we remain grounded in truth. As culture shifts and more people walk away from the church, we must stay devoted to the things that matter most. A healthy, biblical church, rooted in Scripture, rich in fellowship, centered on Christ, and covered in prayer will shine brightly and stand strong no matter what pressures come.

👉 Looking Ahead:
This Sunday, we’ll continue our journey through Acts with a message titled “Speak with Boldness” from Acts 4:1 -22. As opposition rises, Peter and John don’t back down, they speak up. The gospel is too good to keep quiet. We’ll explore how we can learn to talk about Jesus in everyday conversations with both grace and confidence. Let’s grow together in boldness and love.

đź“… Happening This Week

Sunday

  • 9:00am – Worship
  • 10:20am – Sunday School
  • 6:00pm – Evening Service

Sunday Night Services – 6pm

This summer at FCC, Sunday nights at 6pm are all about Ekklesia, Being the Church Together, a time to grow deeper in faith and community. This week is a teaching night, and it’s a great opportunity to lean into what we heard Sunday morning about devoting ourselves to the Bible’s teaching. Let’s move beyond just hearing the Word once a week, let’s obey it, engage with it daily, and commit to being present when it’s taught. The early church gathered often, and we want to follow that example. If you’re hungry to grow, Sunday nights are a great place to start.

🤝 Serve With Us

Looking for ways to get involved

Lunch Buddies
Lunch Buddies is back for June and July!

We’re inviting families or friend groups to sign up for a week to help provide lunches for students in our community. Our church is responsible for Mondays again this year.

Prepping for Lunch Buddies includes purchasing the supplies, packing the lunches and distributing them on the square (if you cant distribute due to schedule conflict no worries, we have you covered).

You can sign up or grab an information sheet downstairs at the sign-up boards or contact the church office. Thank you for being part of this meaningful way to serve and care for our neighbors!

VBS Snacks

VBS is just around the corner (June 9-13) , and we need your help supplying the snack station! There’s a checklist on the clipboards by the library, take a look and sign up to provide a few items. Your support helps fuel the fun as we share the good news of Jesus with kids in our community.

See you Sunday!
