đź“–Sunday Recap
This week we were reminded that the good news announced in Luke 2 is still good news for us today. The angels proclaimed joy because a Savior had come near, God stepping into our world to rescue us from sin and restore us to Himself. Jesus’ birth wasn’t just a moment in history; it was the fulfillment of God’s long promised plan. From the shepherds in the fields to the wise men who traveled far, the arrival of Jesus revealed that God’s salvation was for all, and it called for a response. As we looked at Matthew 2, we saw three responses to Jesus: resistance, indifference, and worship. Herod resisted because Jesus threatened his control. The religious leaders remained indifferent, knowing Scripture but never moving toward the Savior. The wise men, however, showed the only right response, joyful, humble worship.
The message for us is clear: Christmas is not meant to be observed from a distance. It presses the question of how we will respond to Jesus. Worship is more than songs or tradition; it is recognizing Jesus as King and surrendering our lives to Him. Like the wise men, we are invited to seek Him intentionally, bow before Him humbly, and offer Him our best, not leftovers. This week, may we examine our own hearts. Are we resisting Christ to protect comfort or control? Are we indifferent because the story feels familiar? Or are we responding with joyful, humble worship that shapes how we live every day? The good news of Jesus demands a response, and true joy is found when we worship the King who came to save us.
