This Sunday’s message, From Familiar to Fire, challenged us to honestly examine the condition of our faith. We were reminded that every believer has a testimony—not only about what God has done in the past, but about how we are living in response to Jesus right now. The real danger facing the church isn’t disbelief, but comfort. Using Jesus’ words to the church in Laodicea (Revelation 3), we were confronted with the reality of lukewarm faith—doing the right things without passion, obedience, or urgency.
From Romans 12:11–12, we were called to a different way of living: a faith marked by zeal, action, and perseverance. True passion for Jesus refuses to stay comfortable and moves us to serve the Lord with our whole lives. That kind of passion is sustained by rejoicing in hope, remaining patient in trials, and being constant in prayer. The message ended with a clear call to respond—not just to think or feel, but to act. God’s power has not changed, and His Spirit is still at work. The question before us is whether we will remain comfortable, or allow God to rekindle a fire in us that leads to obedience, surrender, and faithful action.
