đź“–Sunday Recap
In this week’s sermon, we wrapped up Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount with a clear warning: “Watch out!” Just as a backup alarm makes us pause and check our surroundings, Jesus calls His followers to spiritual alertness. He teaches that living under His authority isn’t automatic—it requires discernment, obedience, and a life built on the rock. We must be alert to three dangers: false teachers who look godly but lead people astray, counterfeit faith that may appear impressive outwardly but lacks a transformed heart, and weak foundations where obedience to His Word is missing. Hearing His Word is not enough; we must also obey it, building our lives on His teaching so we can withstand life’s storms. The application is personal and urgent. Examine your life and influences: are your faith and actions built on Christ’s solid foundation or on shifting sands? Test the teaching you follow, ensure your heart is authentic, and live in a way that bears lasting fruit. Obedience, not mere activity, marks a true follower of Jesus. Today, the question is yours, will you choose the Jesus way, rooted in discernment, genuine faith, and unwavering obedience, or will you drift on a foundation that can’t endure?
